Hand Held was an unconference, organized with the National Film Board of Canada and St Michael's Hospital. It combined video and digital storytelling with traditional face-to-face conversation, to examine the challenges faced when young mothers who have experienced homelessness try to interact with the health care system.

The event brought together these young mothers along with health care professionals, academics, politicians and decision-makers, to look at these issues, and see how participatory media can help.
